A space for men to speak openly

You may be used to being reliable, solving problems and keeping difficult feelings to yourself. Asking for support can feel unfamiliar, particularly if you are not sure what you would say.

You can begin with what is happening now: an argument that keeps repeating, distance from your partner, worry about work or a feeling that life has become smaller than you expected.

When success leaves questions unanswered

By midlife, you may have achieved things that once mattered enormously and still feel unsettled. Questions about getting older, purpose, family responsibilities or the years ahead can become harder to set aside.

There may be disappointment or regret alongside gratitude for what you have. You do not need to resolve that contradiction before bringing it into a session.

Relationships and identity

Our conversations can include closeness, loneliness, sexuality, cultural expectations and the way you see yourself. Perhaps people know the version of you that functions well, while other parts remain hidden.

I welcome men of different backgrounds and sexualities, including gay, bisexual and questioning men. You can talk about identity and relationships in your own terms.

Ways of coping that concern you

If drinking or drug use has become a concern, you can mention it without needing to minimise it or arrive with a solution. We will consider what support fits your needs, including specialist assessment or treatment where appropriate.

CityCalm does not provide medical addiction treatment, detoxification or emergency care.

You do not need the right words

You might be clear about what you want to discuss, or simply know that you want somewhere to start. The first conversation gives us time to see whether working together feels right.
